WHO IS THE SCHOOL OF CAPTAINS SUITABLE FOR?
Those who need an international yacht license IYT to rent sailing yachts in different countries.
BASIC INFORMATION:
Captains School - this is a skipper training course where students learn to sail a cruising sailing yacht.
IYT (International Yacht Training) - one of the most popular and recognized training systems for yacht captains in the world.
Durationintegrity: 14 days.
Number of participants: no more than 5 people.
Basic marina: Tivat, Montenegro.
Requirements: minimum experience of sailing on any sailing yachts.
! If you have no experience of sailing yachts, then we invite you:
- join to our training and travels,
- pass the Course for beginner yachtsmen at Bora Sailing Club (intensive format for 4 days).
YOU WILL ACQUIRE SKILLS:
- Acceptance of the yacht from charter companies and identification of deficiencies
- Carrying out inspections of yacht equipment
- Conducting safety training
- Organization of life activities on the yacht
- Preparing the yacht for the trip according to the checklist
- Preparation for independent transition
- Parsing directions
- Applications of paper and electronic maps
- Applications of meteorological data
- Communication via VHF radio station
- Knitting knots
- Setting and cleaning the sails
- Taking action in the event of a man overboard alarm
- Mooring to the pier with the log and stern
- Anchoring a sailing yacht
- Placing a sailing yacht on a buoy
- Setting a sailing yacht to drift
- Determining the location of the yacht (you will master the cruising bearing method)
- Definitions of marine lights, signs and sounds
- Applications of COLREGs
- Passing border and customs procedures

- Accommodation: 2-bed cabins.
- Cost of parking in the base marina (Tivat) and cleaning of the yacht after completion of the course.

If you come to Montenegro as a tourist, then you will need to pay a tourist tax, the cost of the tax is calculated for the period of study at the Captains School (14 days).

-LOGBOOK - personal diary for keeping track of miles and hikes traveled
*Limit for CERTIFICATE IYT Bareboat Skipper: you can independently go to sea on a sailing yacht no more than 24 meters long, but no further than 20 miles from the shore, during daylight hours and in good weather.
Payment is made after passing the test of acquired knowledge and skills.
Testing knowledge and skills is carried out in the form of a written test and a demonstration of practical yacht control skills in the last week of training.
Delivery of documents is paid separately according to the tariffs of transport companies (on request).
