What is New Year's Eve in Thailand?

New Year in Thailand is an opportunity to escape from the bustle of big cities and celebrate the New Year 2025 in the cozy atmosphere of close friends yachtsmen among the uninhabited and mysterious islands of the Gulf of Thailand!

What's in store for us?

Route

We start from Koh Chang Island and return to it at the end of our trip. On our way we will visit Ko-Khlum, Ko-Wai, Ko-Rang, Ko-Mak, Ko-Raet and Ko-Kut islands, each of which is beautiful in its own way! Let's tell you more about each of the islands!

Koh Chang

This is one of the most popular islands in Thailand. If you arrive early, here you can relax on the beach, visit an abandoned floating hotel, and sample the local cuisine. This is the perfect place to stock up on supplies and prepare your crew and boat for an expedition to more remote parts of the country. And especially for those who love marine practice, one of the most exciting exits from the marina awaits us on Koh Chang!

Ko-Hloem

Ko Khlum is a small island located near Ko Chang. Here you can see beautiful sunsets and sunrises, as well as snorkeling in search of local fish. On this island, we have a good chance of finding the most beautiful abandoned beach! And actually, who knows what other interesting things we can find on this wild island!

Ko-wai

Another small island where you can spend time in peace and quiet. There are no noisy bars and discos here, just nature and the sea.

Here we will meet the first big coral, and by evening we will go to the opposite side of the island in a small hike to see off the sunset.

Ko-Rang

An island where you can find some of the most beautiful beaches! Here you can also do water sports, if you suddenly have the energy for it! According to our guide to the world of Thailand, Slava Kashayev, this is the coolest spot for snorkeling. That means you have every chance to make new friends among the inhabitants of the local underwater kingdom!

Co-Mac

This is where we will celebrate the New Year. There are several restaurants and cafes on the island where you can try Thai cuisine. Lovely massage parlors and a most unusual art space. The cross shaped island is very diverse, each part is different from the other. Here we rent mopeds and drive around Koh Mak. There are rumors that this is where you can find a shipwreck! If we succeed, we will definitely try to explore it!

Co-Raet

Co Raet is a small island that is famous for its beaches. Here you can relax after a long journey. The real highlight of this place is the drowned figures on which coral reefs have grown over time. This place is not marked on maps, so finding and exploring it will be a special adventure. This is where we will go for the most authentic restaurant of the entire trip. The freshest sea delicacies await us here. Which ones we don't know, as we will eat what they catch in front of us!

Ko-Kut

Ko-Kut is an island with beautiful beaches and coral reefs. We will visit a fishing village with a golden Buddha and then head to the waterfalls for a refreshing dip in their cool waters. The island is also home to the only hospital on the island, which adds to the reassurance that the trip is safe. There are also incredible massage parlors, and those particularly desperate for local wildlife will have the opportunity to find an elephant or a varan!

Our team

We love to celebrate the New Year with our closest people at Bora Sailing Club. That's why in Thailand you will be able to see almost all of our instructor staff, as well as some of their graduates from our school!
